We just returned from Rochester, New York and the FIRST Finger Lakes Regional. 55 teams from New York, Ohio, Chinese Taipei, and more competed this weekend.

Team E.L.I.T.E. finished their robot just in time for this event. We won 5 matches and lost 4 and seeded 20th. Team 3015, Ranger Robotics, from Spencerport, New York selected us to be part of the #2 Alliance in the elimination rounds alongside team 694, Stuypulse, from New York City. The elimination rounds are double elimination style. Our alliance won each of our matches staying at the top of the bracket all the way to the finals. We won finals match 1 in a best of three finals. We lost match 2 which set up a tie breaker match. The opposing #3 Alliance was made up of team 1787, The Flying Circuits, from Pepper Pike, Ohio, team 3181, the Pittsford Panthers, from Pittsford, NY, and team 10922, Amped, from Chinese Taipei. The scores bounced back and forth the whole match and ended very close as the referees did their final counts. The final score was 346 to 345 and the #3 Alliance won out over our alliance to become the champions of the Finger Lakes Regional.

I am extremely proud of the progress our team made this weekend. We knew that we had a lot of work to do at this event to be competitive and the entire team rose to the occasion.
